Two students at George Mason University, Virginia,
have taken fire fighting to a new level with a green
technology fire fighting equipment that uses only
sound waves to put our flames.
Viet Tran and Seth Robertson invented a device that
can put out flames using only a blast of sound.
In a demonstration video, Seth killed off leaping
flames in a frying pan by blasting low-frequency
sound waves from their portable fire extinguisher.
According to the Telegraph, Tran and Robertson say
they created the green technology to stop kitchen
fires and eliminate the toxic and messy chemicals
used in the normal commercial extinguishers,
But they are optimistic that it could be used in wide
areas outdoors, such as large forest fires, handled by
robots or drones so that no human lives will be lost
in fighting fires.
They are even hoping it could be used in space.
