
Alhaji Gana Muhammadu, Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has ordered the deployment of 50,000 personnel for the country’s Independence Anniversary celebration.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Corps spokesman, DCC Okeh Emmanuel, in Abuja on Tuesday.
It said the massive deployment was meant to prevent breach of peace nationwide during the period.
The statement stated that Gana also directed the deployment of 5,000 sniffer dogs, mobile surveillance vehicle and other gadgets for effective monitoring and
supervision.

It urged members of the public to cooperate with the corps by providing information and intelligence to curb
crime and criminalities in the society.
The statement also urged personnel to work in synergy with sister security agencies in ensuring a hitch-free celebration.
It said the commandant commended officers for their performance in providing maximum security throughout the country during the last Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
